Technorati Is Sorry. So Very, Very Sorry.

Sorry :~(

This is the third time since I started blogging in July that I’ve gotten that irritating “sorry” message with sad face from Technorati. Is my blog really “under review”? Are latex leggings and Anne Boleyn controversial? Perhaps my desire for fish feet is in such bad taste that I’ve been singled out for the sad face! Damn you, fish haters! Today, I read in the New York Times that David Sifry, the founder of Technorati, likes to monitor his own blog mentions and comment back. David, please come here and explain yourself! Change me from a harsh critic to an evangelist! Until David Sifry turns up, you other bloggers who have experienced Technorati problems are free to vent here.

thescreamIt’s a little-known fact that Munch painted The Scream while dealing with Technorati.

  1. Technorati is dying…it’s always been slow and frustrating…now it’s slow, frustrating, and filled with spam.

My advice is to concentrate on getting stuff into Google Blog Search (hint: feedburner) you’ll get a lot more traffic, and have a lot less frustration.

  2. Oh god. I’ve been waiting forever for the support people to get back to me so I can get my blog name changed on the lists. It also doesn’t list my new posts – it has my Guilt Is So Not A Good Look post from 37 days ago, but the rest are posts back from when it was my personal blog, and none of the other posts since the re-launch are featured. Argh!

  3. Wendy–I love your sense of humor!

I agree I have more problems than not with Technorati and it takes their support staff over a week to get back to you. I can’t seem to get “the spiders” to recognize The Fashion Rag’s changed domain name following the directions to put the code on the front page (I’ve since taken it off) and support was really of no help, as they just reiterated the directions on the site.

I also can’t seem to figure out their authority ranking. One of my blogs has at least 500 blogs linking in to it (I’m part of several networks) and yet Technorati says only 196 blogs link to me. I’m definitely confused.

  4. You read my mind! I know of several links to my blog that have never, ever showed up on Technorati, and my authority keeps shifting. Very frustrating! Thanks to Chris above for the tip!

  5. Technorati es becoming so unpopular… forget about it… let’s start our own FashionRati

    agree?
