Some people look very dignified when they are working. Me, I don’t know… Photographers look cool as they know how to handle a camera. That’s me, taken at the Lancome Magnifique event by Benjamin Boccas. Mr. Boccas, a fine photographer, has taken a liking to bloggers, by making beautiful portraits of them. If you read Café Mode, you might be familiar with his work if you notice Geraldine’s lovely photo (although, it’s recently been updated with one by Garance Doré). He also blogs himself.
I never thought bloggers would make interesting photographic subject matter… I mean, many of us take loads of pictures of ourselves… but as blogs become more and more established, it makes sense. Gosh, I remember last year, when SF Fashion Week said blogs didn’t count as press.
PS. I know it looks like I’m wearing nothing but a Casio Calculator Watch… but trust me, I’m wearing a strapless tiered mini-dress….

Boo hiss ” blogs didn’t count as press” and here I am with a bay area centered blog right in the heart of teh SF Bay area and one of the worst fashion weeks in the world has the nerve to diss bloggers! BLAH
P.S. Nice picture
She looks so cute, adorable and professional! Bloggers should count as press… some of really good ones really professional xx
Bloggers make all the difference.
well, honestly, take my word for it.. i think this is one of those examples of completely seeing your appearance in a certain way because it’s YOU.
because in actual fact, i think this picture is cool with a capital C.
and I can’t believe SF fashion week said that! whoever was quoted must be kicking themselves now! hahaha, we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.
You’ll be interested to know that San Francisco will be sitting out their Fashion Week this go round. I can’t say I’m surprised. The show was never well managed and they created a lot of bad karma with key bloggers, rescinding their offer of free tickets -at the door.
oh wow, he takes amazing photos!
thanks kathleen, that IS interesting. they were not very nice to me, that is all i can say. the fact they kept saying ‘anyone can start a blog, i’m a blogger myself’ still makes me furious.
it’s probably just as well, becuause they didn’t have san francisco’s best designers on the bill anyway…
Amazing blog! And I love your blogger-photo, the one with the “thou shalt covet” text.
the elle top blogs wasn’t all professionals at it.. i was on it and i’m just a high school slacker! i think it was a healthy splash of regular people and…not.
