The New IFB is Here!
Welcome to our new home
A few weeks ago I announced that IFB would go through a transformation of sorts… that we’d go from a blog to a social network with the newly designed blog. While that may not sound like a big step, it’s a big step.
So what’s new around here?
The IFB Blog
In this new format, you’ll have easier access to the different kinds of posts we have. Whether they are blog inspiration or the more technical side you’ll have an easier time finding what you’re looking for. We now have more options for browsing around the site, either through the tag cloud, through the category sections (BlogLove or ChicGeek)
Contributors will now be given their very own author pages, complete with bio and a selection of the posts they have written.. so if you’d like to become a contributor, please submit your ideas here. Some of our contributors include : reLYME, Style Discovery, Mademoiselle Robot, Ondo Lady, Lauren, Solo Lisa and many more…
In the near future, you’ll also have a new research tool that operates like a newswire so you can come here to find more content that hasn’t made it to the blog circuit yet.
The IFB Network
Many of you have had a chance to take a look around, there’s a lot you can do in the new network aside from finding other bloggers… you can set up groups with events, polls, videos and discussions (forums)… perfect for topical concerns like blog promotion, fashion week, and business concerns. Hosting meet ups in your area can now be done through the IFB groups with your event calendar and discussions, you can now keep a record of your meet ups with sharable albums and videos.
In the past we only really had our blog roll for you to browse and find other blogs. The forums were helpful, but it really only relied on how active you were, and we couldn’t find blogs based on location or type. Now, in the new network you can fill out your own profile, tag it up, display your RSS feed prominently along with any other tidbit of information you see fit for establishing your online persona. But yeah, filling out profiles, believe me, not the highest on the priority list us jaded social media hags. The upside of it, is that you can now search other bloggers in your location, niche or whatever parameter you find important for establishing your own network of blog friends.
The best part is, IFB is just for fashion bloggers, in order to be a member of IFB you must own a fashion blog. So here you can talk with other bloggers about your questions, concerns or anything else without worrying about your non-blogging readers or without opening yourself to spam or anything else. IFB is here to provide you with a safe place to figure out your blogging path…
Not to mention, it’s a great place to share your content with other bloggers.
Questions…
Over the weekend I did the migration, so if you are already a member of IFB, and/or applied between April 20 and May 15 you should have gotten an email from me, but do to some blips in the system, it seems that some of you didn’t get your usernames and passwords. No worries, if that happend, just go to the Lost Password page and enter the email you used to apply for IFB membership.
If you are not yet a member… we’d love it if you joined… please register here. Be sure to add your URL because I don’t approve people unless they can prove they have a fashion blog.

This is a big deal. IFB has gone from a tight community and is growing leaps and bounds, while still maintaining the closeness and comraderie. I love the changes and can’t wait to continue to contribute and learn from IFB.
