NYFW SS10 Schedule

three as four

It’s that time of year again… and since so many of you made it out to NYFW last year, we’re posting the NYFW schedule here on IFB.

How to get into the shows…

Getting into the shows can be tricky, but it’s not rocket science. You’l have to fill out a few forms, and write a few letters, and maybe do some follow up, but all in all, it’s doable.

Press registration is now open, and to avoid the late surcharge, apply before August 14th. Last season, I applied, but was denied (as were some more substantial fashion networks… so I didn’t take it personally) but even with press approval, you’d still have to approach the press agents for invites. What I did was contact the press agent of the designers I was interested in viewing, and gave them an overview of my site, included a few links and stats, and asked for an invite.

I didn’t get into all the shows I wanted, but I was able to get into some really great ones (see above threeASFOUR), the best you can do is try, of course, be professional, and if you can’t get in this year, there are going to be loads of events surrounding the fashion shows, so either way, you’ll have tons to cover at NYFW. Here are some useful links to review…

  1. Thanks for posting the schedule, Jennine! I’m excited about seeing many of these shows. I just wanted to point out that many of the shows are off schedule and not posted on the official site, and many independent designers could really use the coverage, so if you are nice about it, and present yourself professionally, chances are, you can probably attend! Even if you aren’t on the list for these shows, many students and enthusiasts often just wait around and get admitted standing room if they are nice about it. The key is to be as nice as possible. You’re dealing with harried PR people who could probably use a few kind words!

  3. Well done on getting in to some great shows :)

I don’t think I’m in with a chance since I live in New Zealand and don’t have any credentials to my name haha, but extremely jealous of anyone who is going!

  4. I was looking forward to seeing the schedule go up, and I know a couple of these are going to blow me away (I have a feeling that the Milly runway is going to be to die for). Thanks so much for posting this!
