The first two Dress Up Soirées last season in New York and London were great, intimate, refreshing, a new turn in fashion…but nothing, and I do mean NOTHING could have prepared me for the turn out and spirit that came with this season’s Dress Up Soiree and Evolving Influence panel discussion (I tried to do an intro, but I cried in front of everyone). This time around having amazing sponsors like Microsoft and Moxsie.com allowed us to put forth a great event, and with the help of Jordana this would not be possible to accomplish, and the panelists….
Helen Zhu CEO of Chictopia.com ❤ Erika Miller SEO Manager of Elle.com ❤ Julia Kung of Moxsie.com ❤ Debbie Anderson of Microsoft ❤ Tricia Royal of Wardrobe Remix ❤ Wendy Brandes of Wendy Brandes Jewelery and Christian Francis Roth ❤ Jessica Schroeder of What I Wore ❤ Geri Hirsch of Because I’m Addicted ❤Crosby Noricks of PR Couture ❤ Carolyn Hsu of Daily Obsession ❤ Susie Lau of Style Bubble
As people started to show up for the panel Evolving Influence, it really honed in the need for us to meet in person, that the volume of our community is growing, and with that we’re also creating a culture of professionalism. Unfortunately, I didn’t foresee this need, and we really could have gone on for a much longer time, but the venue was more of a party space, and we also needed to socialize with each other! So next time we’ll take this into consideration, and create something even more useful to the community!
For the record, I’d like to address some blips that happened, like some people under 21 were turned away… I’m very sorry that slipped my mind, I thought that since Broadway East is a restaruant, so it didn’t occur to me also, the days when I got carded are wayyyyy behind me, so I’m very sorry. Secondly, someone mentioned that there were no men on the panel. We asked a few guys, they couldn’t make it. If you’re a man, and would like to be considered for the panel, please make yourself known to me, and take part in the community.
All in all, if there ever needed to be proof that we are a powerful community, then this was the night. Meeting everyone in person, feeling the energy and warmth in the air really spoke volumes about where fashion blogging is heading… and it’s only going up.
I know happened a week and a half ago..but we had so many photos to share, and there is so much more in the Dress Up Photo Album! and there were so many people who posted about their experience, I’d like to give a nod to everyone who posted about the Dress Up Soirée….

WOW! How fabulous are you all? Speechless.
Hey guys thanks for putting up this awesome event, I attended and left after the panel discussion ended. I did speak to very few people, I spoke to Gilda of Queen Gilda and said hi to Wendy Brandes but I doubt she remembers me, she was being hoarded by other 5 people lol. I didn’t take any pictures of me at the event but I did take pics of the event (e.g. looking down the stairs) so can I send a pic of me in my IFB outfit I took at home?
I also wanted to give a small suggestion, the place was extremely packed and hot when I got there at 8:45 and I had the unfortunate luck of making a wrong turn and walking through the projects :/ not cool at all. As I walked inside the hallway was filled with people, some girls on the first floor were pissed off because they were being told be quiet. I asked what was going on and they told me the panel was still going on upstairs. I tried to go up the stairs and it was almost impossible but I managed to get there. I think I would love to see IFB being held in a bigger and more spacious place next year. The panel was ending and I decided to go downstairs to introduce myself to more people, I saw the same group of girls downstairs talking and I introduced myself and my blog, I asked them what were their blogs and they looked at me like I was speaking in another language and only introduced themselves by their first name (guess they weren’t bloggers). I decided to call it a night after an exhausting day from work, I was very happy to see the turn-out at the event, it sucks I didn’t get to say hi to all the people I wanted to, but hey there’s always next year
