NYFW: Backstage with the Models of Mackage

This morning on my way to work, I trudged through the slush and frozen sidewalks to stop by Bryant Park for my first “official” Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week coverage this season. Avon was kind enough to invite me backstage at the Mackage A/W 2010 show to get a sneak peek of the models hair and make-up before they hit the runway.

According to Avon Global Stylist Advisor Tippi Shorter, who works with stars like Rihanna and Beyonce, the inspiration is themed around “the walk of shame” with hair slightly greased and loosely pulled back. She used Avon’s Advanced Techniques Smoothing Serum before styling to give it an oily, yet polished appearance; then finished with the Advanced Techniques Hair Spray. Make-up involved smoky bold eyes that almost looked as if they’d been perfectly smeared underneath and around.

If only we could all look like this when waking up in the morning! Stay tuned for fashion week coverage from the IFB community!
