Exhausted as we may be after our IFB Conference, we’re well aware that this is just the beginning of the mad dash and hectic show-hopping excitement that is fashion month. In New York (and cities across the country) the best way to kick things off (and find a few new things to wear) is Fashion’s Night Out.
The 3rd annual one-night-only extravaganza brings out celebrities, designers, DJs, models, and shoppers by the thousands. The sheer volume of retailers participating can be overwhelming, so we went ahead and sorted through the insanity to bring you our picks for where to go for the best deals, celeb-spotting, parties and cocktails. In our experience, the earlier you arrive, the better, as the big ticket events become very crowded, very quickly. So choose wisely, IFB-ers, and we’ll see you there!
Designers from Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, Peter Som, Sang A, Anndra Neen, Lizzie Fortunato, Wes Gordon, Fenton, and Reece Hudson will all be onhand, and you can shop their exclusive FNO collections.
There will be numerous events and promotions on every floor, featuring appearances by designer Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu and Milly’s Michelle Smith, among many, many others. On the 3rd floor, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa, Santiago Gonzalez, Naeem Khan, and Monique Lhuillier will serve as judges of a “Best in Show,” competition featuring Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Cushnie & Ochs, Jocelyn Gordon, Joseph Altuzarra, Lela Rose, Pamella Roland, Reem Acra and more, all with their canine companions. Sufficient to say, this is one of the hottest places to be on FNO.
