Burberry SS12: Ladylike Hippy

This season was a series of firsts for me, first front row at Lincoln Center, IFB comes to London, my first LFW… and my first major luxury designer show. It was an honor just to get in apparently! Anywho… the venue was facing the Prince Albert Memorial in Hyde Park, I couldn’t think of a more poshy location (I used to call the memorial… the gold guy) actually I could go on about Prince Albert, but the show, the show!

This season titled Bead, Baskets, Parkas and Prints… is just exactly what it says on the tin. I kind of felt like it was the collection for either the lady who had a hippy inside her, or the hippy who wants/needs to lady it up. The crochet and beading, the linens and prints all making a nod to the tribal trend that’s been going on for a few seasons now. Personally I love it…and it kind of hits both sides of my personality, a California girl who loves pencil skirts *so much*. Ah. I also loved the hats, which gave a serious nod to 60’s mod… I can see this becoming an it hat in the next season or so, it’s just too fun.
