This morning, New York magazine invited some members of the press to preview the re-launch and expansion of their fashion site, The Cut and I was lucky enough to be invited. What started as a cheeky, witty blog on fashion industry news and celebrity style is growing into an online magazine-like platform that will include beauty, expanded runway and industry coverage, original editorials, global street style, sex, politics, shopping and culture topics.
The expansion has been in the works for about a year, with a growing editorial staff, a host of contributors and not to mention, a sleek new look. One of the most exciting new features throughout the site will be their extremely hi-resolution images. From their celebrity lookbooks to fashion and beauty editorials – we’ll be able to get some serious zoom and catch details even print images can’t match.
This is a big move for New York‘s online component – one that signals their trust in the growth and importance of digital media, especially media geared towards women.
The redesigned site is set to launch next week.
