This is the last post in a very exciting series we’re bringing to you on IFB in anticipation of the upcoming #IFBcon. We’ll have a different post designed to help your blog become – you guessed it – bigger, better and bolder.
We've arrived, you guys. This is the very last post in our Bigger, Better, Bolder series! The hope is that by now, after applying some of our tips and brushing up on your talents you're feeling more than ready to put them to use at #IFBcon (and beyond)!
To wrap things up, we didn't want to overwhelm you with more social media strategy or DSLR how-to's. We'll wind down this series with inspiration from amazing and successful individuals in the fashion industry and beyond. The idea is to leave you feeling excited, motivated, happy and prepared.
“The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Because no matter what happens, you will always be with yourself.” – Diane Von Furstenberg
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
“Publish consistently and remember that sometimes less is more—especially as we’re moving into a period of quality over quantity. Create original content, or if it’s not original, present it or cover it in a distinctive way. Create reoccurring titled features so that if your readers like a certain kind of content, it’s easy for them to find more of it. Don’t bombard your readers with links: give them a few good options of where to go next. Create a mission statement for your blog, and stick to it. Always be curious.” – Susan Cernek (From this interview)
“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.” – Brian Clark
“As I have repeatedly written in one form or other, blogging is not about writing posts. Heck, that’s the least of your challenges. No, blogging is about cultivating a mutually beneficial relationships with an ever-growing online readership, and that’s hard work.” – Alister Cameron
“Blogging is to writing what extreme sports are to athletics; more free-form, more accident-prone, less formal, more alive. It is in many ways, writing out loud.” – Andrew Sullivan, The Atlantic
“Other people and things can stop you temporarily. You’re the only one who can do it permanently.” – Zig Ziglar
“If you would create something, you must be something.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
