As a kid I used to lay awake in bed at night (or daydream at my desk at school…) thinking about that question all kids ponder: If I could have one superpower, what would it be? It often came down to telepathy or the ability to fly. (I always picked flying, didn’t you?)
Just because we’re grown up now, and aren’t flying airborne like birds from New York to Paris or reading the minds of our heart’s desire – doesn’t mean we don’t each have a superpower inside us. I know it sounds cheesy, but here’s the thing: believing in yourself, sometimes more than anyone else is willing to, perhaps against seemingly insurmountable odds – that kind of makes you a superhero of sorts, no? This may not be Gotham City or Metropolis, and you might not be faster than a speeding bullet – but you’ve created a blog, you have a vision and a goal for yourself, as well as the ability to positively influence and inspire those around you.
So on that note, what’s your greatest strength? What kind of emblem would be displayed on the chest of your costume and cape? Maybe you have more than one special talent – like the Superman of blogging. Whatever it might be, make it known. Let it shine. Put out a blogger bat signal in the shape of a golden hanger if you have to!
