What’s Your Blogging Superpower?

As a kid I used to lay awake in bed at night (or daydream at my desk at school…) thinking about that question all kids ponder: If I could have one superpower, what would it be? It often came down to telepathy or the ability to fly. (I always picked flying, didn’t you?)

Just because we’re grown up now, and aren’t flying airborne like birds from New York to Paris or reading the minds of our heart’s desire – doesn’t mean we don’t each have a superpower inside us. I know it sounds cheesy, but here’s the thing: believing in yourself, sometimes more than anyone else is willing to, perhaps against seemingly insurmountable odds – that kind of makes you a superhero of sorts, no? This may not be Gotham City or Metropolis, and you might not be faster than a speeding bullet – but you’ve created a blog, you have a vision and a goal for yourself, as well as the ability to positively influence and inspire those around you.

So on that note, what’s your greatest strength? What kind of emblem would be displayed on the chest of your costume and cape? Maybe you have more than one special talent – like the Superman of blogging. Whatever it might be, make it known. Let it shine. Put out a blogger bat signal in the shape of a golden hanger if you have to!

Wonder Writer

A wizard with words, you have the uncanny ability to make music out of sentences. From adjectives to adverbs and excellently placed commas, your greatest thrill comes out of writing your posts – and it shows. You know how to draw your readers in, entertain and delight them with just the right amount of copy – then leave them wanting more.

Camera’d Crusader

Snap, snap, snap! You’re lightning on your DSLR dial. Aperture and F-Stop are second nature to you, and you never miss a shot. Capturing style, whether it’s your own (with that masterful camera remote) or inspiring looks on your local streets – is your focus... And it’s crystal clear.

Super Stylist

If looks could kill, you’d have racks and models and mannequins of murderous fashions. Pairings, layering, and proportions? Those are your specialties. You can match and mix pieces with such finesse and flair that your sense of style is known across the Internet.

Media Marvel

You’re a tornado of tweets; a Facebook force to be reckoned with. Your power is harnessed and unleashed in 140 characters or less. You promote your posts and share witty anecdotes – and you’re always the first to tip off your followers to a great link, a worthy retweet or breaking news. Your Pinterest pins appear like magic and spread like wildfire, and Instagrams? Please! No other square (pictures) can compare.

Design Dazzler

Also known as the Goddess of Graphics, you’re gifted with design, a hotshot with headers and an absolute artist of digital aesthetics. Your technical abilities combine seamlessly with your creative vision, making you the master of everything that’s “beautifully functional.”

What’s your blogging superpower? Is it one or all of these? Share yours in the comments!

My super power has to be Wonder Writer: I will soon obtain my Bachelor’s degree in professional writing. (Annoying high pitched scream) Eeeeee!!

  5. This article seems a bit like “what’s your niche”, or at least that’s how I interpret it. But I’d say like Stefan, a bit of everything. My blog is my journey and I am still figuring out what I want to do in life, so I doubt I’ve honed in on what blog super power I’d be.

This is a pretty cool post Taylor! Now, I’ve been told and do agree I’m a “Wonder Writer”, but I think I’m more innately a Super Stylist. I just need to get my stuff together (camera wise, etc.) – love this it really motivates me! xo

  8. Cher is a Wonder Writer and I’m a Camera’d Crusader if I may say so myself. :-) Our site is a true team work! J

  9. I would most like to be able to inspire my readers to try something new and discover or flaunt the elegant lady inside of them! For that, I will have to work on being a super stylist.

I’d like to think I’m great with words but I think it’s my GIFs that have their own personalities and shows off the fun loving nature of my blog.

I would Wonder Writer. That’s definitely my true strength. Unfortunately, I haven’t been writing as much as usual lately. Still finding a balance between text and photos.

  13. My superpower is definitely styling! I can mix and match anything … high fashion with fast fashion, vintage with contemporary, sport with luxe, fine jewelry with fun jewelry. I can make it work! Regarding photography my class starts next week. I am pretty good with facebook and I am in love with Instagram. As for my writing, I know, I still need work but I write 200 words everyday. Practice makes perfect! Right?

I’d like to think I was a Wonder Writer and Camera’s Crusader. Can’t wait to reach the point where I’m good at everything, though. Then, I’d really feel like a superhero.

I’m more of a camera’d crusader. My style is rather predictable and I can hardly write a decent paragraph.

  20. Charley says:

I like to think mine are writing and technical ability with DIYs – I’m generally spurred on by finding creative ways of copying designer clothes and experimenting with effects no one’s tried before.
Either way, my blog URL is http://chiccheat.co.uk – decide for yourselves ;)
