5 Days. That’s the official countdown to #IFBCon.

All the bags have been assembled, the panelists have been lined up, tickets are being sold. I can’t even believe we are in the home-stretch but it’s true. The only thing left to plan is my #IFBCon outfit. It must be the winter blues or something but I’m in serious need of outfit inspiration. Should I wear a dress or colored denim? Go in all black (this is New York) or deck myself out in neon? Bold baubles or simple jewelry? Too many options and now my head hurts. Total #fashiongirlproblems.

IFB Project #33: Share Your #IFBCon Outfit

Since I’m in need of #IFBcon outfit inspiration, this week I’m asking you all to share your own #IFBcon outfit. Even if you can’t make it to the big apple (you will be missed!), show me what you would wear if you could go. You can create a collage or snap a picture of your outfit and share it below. I can’t wait to see your outfits; you all never let me down!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been a week since the IFB Conference. It was such a whirlwind of preparation and excitement that steamrolled right into New York Fashion Week, we’ve hardly had time to catch our breath. We can’t quite believe it, but another successful IFB Conference has come and gone. From start to finish, yesterday was a truly wonderful experience for our team, our sponsors, our panelists and our attendees!

Jennine kicked things off by welcoming everyone to Milk Studios, and the first panel, ‘Bloggers Toolkit,’ took the stage. They entered right into an upbeat and informative discussion of what each of the panelists depends on to effectively run their blog and connect with readers as well as peers.

Next up, the ‘Is The Social Media Industry Broken?’ panel discussed the relationships and issues surrounding bloggers, PR firms, ad agencies and brands.  Many of the panelists have jobs or experience in the corporate world which added additional insight to the conversation.

During the short lunch break, everyone mixed and mingled and took full advantage of the fun activities our sponsors provided. We never thought we’d see the day when a girl could successfully tweet from her iphone, nosh on a ice cream bar and get a custom Minx manicure, all at the same time. (We’re a generation of multi-taskers, that much is certain!) KMS California treated the guests and panelists to snazzy new hairstyles throughout the day, and Aldo brought out our gambling spirits with roulette for prizes.

After lunch, the ‘Balancing Act: Business & Blogging’ panel launched into a passionate discussion that verged on a debate. The animated and opinionated Ari Goldberg from Style Caster was a crowd favorite for his frank honesty and genuine advice. From selling ad space to asking for sponsorship and accepting gifted items, this panel really dug into the meat of the big issues up-and-coming fashion bloggers face today.

Our fourth panel, ‘Evolution of Fashion Media,’ brought together the thoughts of bloggers, magazine editors and online contributors to discuss the direction of fashion media and where blogs meet glossy publications and where both are heading in the future.

During the short break between the last panel and our keynote finale, Joe Zee surprised the attendees with their own copies of the September 2011 issue of ELLE magazine. He then took the state with BagSnob’s Tina Craig for some Q + A about his thoughts on social media, fashion bloggers, and the future of fashion media. In what we’d like to call an #IFBcon exclusive, Joe mentioned that he’ll soon be starting his own Tumblr, featuring editorial images from his 20 plus years in the industry. (We can’t wait for this!) He finished by taking questions from the audience and even posing for pictures with his many admirers.

Amidst the hustle and bustle here at the IFB offices as we prepare for the IFB conference, we nearly forgot that today is a momentous milestone for us!

Today, September 5th, 2011 IFB turns four years old!

We’re so grateful for all the support and truly amazed at how far we’ve come as a blog, as a company and as a community. It’s been a wonderful adventure and we’re excited for all that the future holds in store for IFB – we know it’s going to be good.
