These are all great options but I definitely think bloggers can create their own themes. In my opinion I like simplistic/minnimal themes, they just look cleaner.

Totally agree with this, especially with blocking out “blog time”. I blog on Saturday mornings and sunday mornings and I try to write and edit a few posts for that week.
