Thanks to the lovley people at FashionFreax and E.Factor, next week I will be on the panel at a conference in Berlin about working in a world without geographic boundaries. Though IFB is in English, our community is strongly international, and to be honest, I didn't really think that was special as I always thought working on the internet meant greater possibilities for international collaboration. However, when I pause, I realize what an amazing thing we have created here, not all websites have international appeal, and not all communities encourage international discourse. IFB is certainly a special place. Aww… doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Well, it should! 😉

I'm also really excited to hear what the other panelist have to say about their own international communities.

Beyond Boundaries – Building Your International Reputation

For E.Factor's first event in Berlin, we will be looking at what it takes to forge a reputation for your skills and product around the world. We're not talking about world-straddling brand ubiquity or becoming the next superstar celebrity designer here; just what it means to reach and work with clients, customers and partners beyond your immediate location.

  • How can you get new business from someone on another continent?
  • How can they hear about you?
  • What does managing your reputation mean when media exposure talks in languages you will never know?
  • How important is location anyway?

Panelists include:
Jennine Tamm, (yours truly) Founder of Independent Fashion Bloggers
Bastian Unterberg, Founder, Jovoto
Alexander Grots, Founder, Gravity-Europe
Maartje van der Hoeve, Models at Work, Amsterdam based Model agency expanding in Berlin.
Claudia Helming, CEO, Dawanda

Date: Thursday, July 2
Time:  19:30 – 22:00
Venue: MÜNZSALON
Münzstraße 23
10178 Berlin
Fees: €10
Stop by if you're in town! If you're not… no worries you can sit in the conference in a streaming version here.

I will also be attending Berlin Fashion Week… you'll hear the details about that soon, which I know you're going to love…

That’s amazing and a perfect topic to speak about! Fashion blogs have really opened my eyes to different international trends and opened up channels of communication all over for me, from Greece to Germany! So excited for you.
