This week's blogger spotlight goes to the darling Suze from Miss Vinyl Ahoy. When you visit her, you'll get caught in Mid-Western charm and real life adventures!
Why did you start blogging?
The short version? My sister, Cher, wanted to see photos of my adorable and photogenic cats. The long version? I started blogging because Cher pretty much forced me to do it. She lives in Chicago and I live in Detroit so we don’t get to see each other very often. Every morning she’d send me a text message begging to see funny photos of my cats. I started a blog posting photos of the cats (http://themeatloafy.wordpress.com) because it was easier than texting pictures. In a lot of the photos, I was holding the cats, and I began to get some interest in my outfits so started my own fashion blog. I began to realize how much I missed having a creative outlet and have turned the blog into a full-time hobby!
What is most inspirational for you when blogging?
I love knowing I’m leaving behind a little piece of myself with every post, that I’ll have something to look back on in five, ten or even twenty years makes me smile. I used to hate being in photos. I’m missing large chunks of my life because I refused to be photographed. I had fire-engine red hair in college, but no photos to prove it! Now, I take photos of myself nearly everyday, and I can’t remember why I was so shy about it before. Blogging has really helped me escape from the shy shell I built around myself.
Describe the type of man or woman who would love Miss Vinyl Ahoy…
Someone who worships at the altar of fashion, but has very little to put on the offering plate. I like to write about inexpensive fashion, inexpensive options and sometimes how to DIY your own accessories. If you don’t mind random musings of comic books, movies, books, music or pets, in addition to fashion, Miss Vinyl Ahoy is for you!
