IFB Evolving Influence Conference: Content is Queen

We ended the conference with Rumi of Fashion Toast, Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere and Amy Odell of NY Mag's The Cut. They all spoke on how to improve your content and get your readers involved.

Emily's approach on compelling content: Really important to be a good editor in your outfit posts: less is more. Thinks you have to be extremely into details and a good editors. Have a variety of photograph compositions: portrait, landscape, full body and details.

Amy on “40 is the new 20”-Julia Roberts face couldn’t move in Eat, Pray, Love (for realz people? haven’t seen this yet!) This is an example of how you have to stay true to self and your beliefs; just b/c other people post that “40 is the new 20″ doesn’t mean you have to agree and follow that trend.

Rumi on privacy-Where do you draw the line when it comes to privacy? She tries to write conversationally. There is a lot she isn’t comfortable putting out there and she doesn’t put it there. Only if it is natural it goes up.
