How to Get the Most Out of Your IFB Experience: Part 2

As bloggers we are all on IFB mainly for the same reasons. We love our blogs, we work hard on them and we want them to prosper and expand. Also, many bloggers have tons of unanswered questions. IFB is a marvelous place for you to find the answers to many of those questions. If you recall, Ashe Mischief wrote a great article in November entitled, “Using, Utilizing & Making the Best of Your IFB Experience.” All social networks can be a bit overwhelming when you first start using them. I am basically reinforcing how useful and helpful it would be for you to get the best experience out of IFB and update you on some new features.

How to Contribute to IFB:

Submit Guest Posts: As you know, IFB is a collective mentorship of fashion bloggers. Therefore, we'd like to hear from you, the community, if you have something you'd like to share. Here are some things we like to talk about on IFB: general blog tips, improvement, monetization, advertising, corporation-owned blogging networks, media, ethics, tech tips and SEO tips. If you have a post that will fit into any of these categories, we'd love to post it. Just submit a summary of what you would like to write to jennine [@] heartifb DOT com.

Links a la mode (LALM): Links a la mode is a place where you can submit your articles and have a chance to be selected by a weekly get shared once a week through the IFB community. This is an essential tool because it will help increase your blog traffic and bring more unique visitors to your blog. Links a la mode was so popular that we actually started…

Links a la mode Tech (LALM: Tech): Links a la mode tech was created March. We were getting such a great response to LALM that the IFB community decided it would be easier for bloggers to stay up to date with gadgets by giving it a separate category. We feel it’s rather imperative for bloggers to be gadget savvy AKA geek chic. The web is our home after-all.

We’ve noticed however, That some people are still submitting tech post to the regular LALM. We wanted to make sure you’re aware of LALMT! You can check out this post here written by Jessica Conatser to refresh your memory of when LALM: Tech was introduced and when to submit.

“So remember, links not only build traffic, they build a community!” ~ Jennine

Forums: If you go to your “My profile” tab on the upper right corner you can click on Groups and that will bring you to Forums. You can create or respond to a vast amount of questions. This is convenient because you all help each other as a community and virtually meet a lot of people. I’ve also seen a lot of questions such as “Any bloggers in the Jersey area? Put your post here”  This could lead to joint coverage and future collaborations. You never know what you’ll find in the Forums. To keep the forums beneficial for everyone we don’t encourage spam. Please familiarize yourself with the Forum Rules.

Polls: People love getting input probably as much as they enjoy giving it. Create and participate in polls. Be engaged.

IFB Flickr Photo Pool: This is another fairly new feature. Share your original photography with us! We all know how difficult it can be finding a good photo. We’d love to use original photos taken by you on our posts. Find all the information you need to learn about the Flickr pool here. We encourage all of you to participate and get credited for your work. We used one in this post today by circusboxblog. Thanks for the submissions!

Be active: Find bloggers and add them as your friends. Make your IFB profile an enjoyable place to visit. Keep it updated, make sure all your social networks are linked in, and most importantly be authentic and original.

How do I get my blog noticed? How do I gain more readers/traffic? Follow the tips above and I’m sure you’ll see a noticeable difference.

Stay tuned for more updates and new features coming soon.
