Day 3 started off by an intimate gathering at the Margaret Howell shop for their SS12 show. This was one of the collections I was the most excited about and it didn’t disappoint. Simple feminine frocks alternated with relaxed tailoring in beautiful, crisp whites, watermelon and navy hues. After that, I was off to Mulberry, another wildly anticipated show here in London… that always has at least one dog on the catwalk and that satisfies the animal lover in me. The collection was very shimmery and light – once again Emma Hill did a wonderful job. Finally, Topshop Unique is the hot ticket every season, with a star studded front row (although don’t ask me to name them, I am not proficient at celebs at all, but that’s what I was told!). The inspiration was quite obviously Egyptian, as the invite suggested (it was a photo of Liz Taylor as Cleopatra). Gold, fringing, beetles, bodycon numbers and as an interlude, a vision in pink that reminded me of a toy mermaid. So fun!
