Tell Us About Independent Fashion and Win Front Row Tickets!

Calling all UK-based fashion bloggers!

IFB is thrilled to partner with TellusFashion on an exciting contest! We're going to give five IFB bloggers the chance to sit front row at an independent London fashion show featuring 10 up-and-coming designers. Not only that, the winners will also attend the pre-show launch party and a meet-and-greet with the designers after the show. It's a glamorous opportunity filled with serious potential to grow your blog and get insider access to London's fashion scene.

Over the years, at IFB, we have noticed that bloggers who are among the first to find new talent benefit in a number of ways, one building the relationships with designers when they are starting out has the same meaning to them as it does to you in your early days. You're also among the first to report and share with your readers, giving your readers the feeling that they found something special. We as bloggers have had the opportunity to cover all kinds of events, from high-profile NYFW and LFW shows to industry-sponsored events, and we'll be the first to tell you – it isn't always easy. If you're timid, unprepared or just plain denied access, your content can end up being totally lack-luster. That's this is such a great opportunity: The TellusFashion event will give you the chance to be among the first to report about emerging talent, get amazing up-close-and-personal access for capturing great photos, conducting interviews and providing behind-the-scenes anecdotes and unique angles for your readers.

Beyond being a fun and fashionable outing for you, your experience can fuel your blog's credibility and traffic, provide amazing content you wouldn't have otherwise, and give you valuable experience in covering shows and events. Bloggers are gaining more and more clout and influence these days, but it's still tough to get access and invitations to high-profile events, even for established names. It's rare to get this close up, especially to multiple designers who are talented, driven, just like you!

The launch party, show, and meet-and-greet will all take place in London on November 21st, 2011.

To enter, compose a compelling and thoughtful blog post about a designer from the list below. We're lo0king for bloggers who can write with originality, compose an enticing layout and really show us what they've got!

To give you a little head start, here are some of IFB's top tips for blogging about designers:

  • Have an angle and decide what the purpose of your post is: are you going to critique, educate, entertain?
  • Pick a trend or piece to highlight, and show your readers how they can apply it to their wardrobe.
  • Be positive, but not gushingly so. Sincerity is key.
  • Avoid overuse of words like “fabulous” and “chic.” Don't be afraid to research fashion terms and apply them to your post.
  • Use photos carefully, and be sure to credit their sources!
