Professional Blogger Spotlight: I Spy DIY

This week's Professional Blogger Spotlight falls on the stylish and insanely creative Jenni Radosevich, the voice and glue gun behind I Spy DIY. IFB caught up with Jenni to find out what she's got up her sleeve for 2012 and pick her brain for her best blogging advice for the community.

Tell us a little about I Spy DIY?

Growing up I was always making my own clothes and thrifting, so when I moved to New York (on a tight budget) I did the same. While working at InStyle, I pitched a DIY story to them, and it was a huge hit. I turned the idea into a blog, and the magazine asked me to do a monthly DIY column.  Now I am freelancing and working on my site full time.

How do you monetize I Spy DIY?

Right now, I monetize my site through sponsored posts and videos with brands I think my readers would like and find useful.

What role does social media play in your blogging life?

Currently there is little seperation between me and social media. The good news is that DIY is a way of life, and I love sharing tips, inspiration, and ideas with my readers through social media. I think it is important to pick the platforms that make the most sense for you, and figure out how to use them in the most effective way possible.

How has blogging affected your career?

I have been super lucky to be able to turn my blog into my career in the last few months. I am beyond excited to see where it takes me!

Any big projects in the works?

I just finished my first DIY book, and I could not be more excited about it! I Spy DIY Style will be out April 17th (Available now for pre-order at Amazon – Barnes & Noble – IndieBound)

What is your blogging resolution for 2012?

I really want to set a blogging calendar and stick to it. I hope to continue to grow my site in 2012. I would also love to do more video, I think it is such a fantastic way to teach people how to do-it-themselves.

What advice would you give to aspiring bloggers?

The best advice I have ever heard is to focus your blog, pick a topic you love and stick with it. Also find a blog name and use across all your social media platforms so you are easy to find and follow.
