Tavi Gevinson Goes To Hollywood

She's not even a legal adult yet, but she's already conquered the blogosphere, has an editorial team, is a TED conference speaker, voice-over actress in an animated film, musician, model, and all around champion of all things indie. But now Tavi Gevinson is ready to show off her acting chops in Nicole Holofcener's latest film (who also directed great television like Parks and Recreation and Bored to Death, and her latest film Please Give).

And this is no small project — the film currently is set to include Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener and Toni Collette.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “She will play Chloe, an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to grow up faster than her peers.”

Sources also tell The Hollywood Reporter that Hollywood agency UTA will represent her talent and that Linda Lichter (who is known for repping indie clients in the film industry) is also still her attorney.

We mentioned how some top tier bloggers were signing on to bigger talent agencies, but what do you think about Tavi's move to the big screen?

This girl is truly incredible. I am so inspired by her work, and of what she’s managed to accomplish at such a young age. There are some people that you hope stick to one or two outlets where they’re the most talented, but she still has so much to discover, so I can’t wait to see her trying new career paths!

I think this is just an example of the way our society works. When someone is well known or in the spotlight, they’re put there more in any way possible, like Paris Hilton who was just a rich girl that gained attention from the paparazzi and went on to sing, star in reality tv, design and more. But I think that Tavi earned that attention through her talents and I am happy for her success. If only we could all be so lucky!

That’s great! I love Parks and Rec like crazy, so it’s great that she gets to work with someone who is tied to that show.

Go, Tavi! I love that she’s really capitalizing on her youth– people always say youth is wasted on the young, but I think she’s a fine example of putting that energy to hard work. I wish her success in all of her efforts.
