3 Ways To Say “Thank You!” To Your Readers

You know that feeling you get when you open up your mailbox and see a small, pretty envelope addressed by hand, specifically to you? It makes you feel special, doesn't it? It's even better when it turns out that the card is a “Thank You” for something you've done for the letter-writer.

Did you know that same warm-and-fuzzy feeling can translate to the digital world? As bloggers, we're doing out best to put out great content, share tid-bits of our lives through social media and give the best advice in fashion and style that we know how. Part of the reason we keep doing what we're doing, is because other people like it. They read it. They retweet it. They pass it on to their friends. We wouldn't be anywhere without our followers, fans and readers, would we?

Every now and then, it's nice to say an online “Thank You” to your community. Beside writing it down in a post, here are three ways you can thank your community for their support, their friendship and their time.

1. Share exclusive content through email marketing.

Why not send out a weekly newsletter using a program like MailChimp? You can make it a fun and easy-to-digest summary of the week's posts, and as a bonus – why not include exclusive content? Write an extra post that only comes to your subscribers, or give them a sneak peak of upcoming content.

2. Work with brands to share shopping discounts.

The best kinds of relationships are the ones where both parties benefit. Offering exclusive discount codes through your blog is a way to make your readers happy and inspired to shop, as well as drive traffic (and sales, potentially) to the brands or retailers – it's a win-win (especially if you use affiliate links as well). To get started, reach out with this idea to PR firms or brands you've worked with in the past.

3. Respond back to your thoughtful commenters.

This is a big one, and probably the most personalized way you can easily say a big, meaningful thank you to your readers. Either block out an hour or so each week or respond as you go, whatever works with your schedule. Your readers will appreciate your feedback and be more inclined to continue to read and comment, just knowing that you appreciate them!

In our fashion blogging community, the more we can do to appreciate each other, share the love and take a minute to recognize the time that each of us takes out of our day to build relationships and create great content – the better.

Have you said Thank You to your community lately?

I definitely agree with #3. If a blogger never responds to their comments, it seems a bit rude.

I’m not a fan of e-mail subscribing though, and I would hate to miss out on posts! 🙁

I really like this article. The idea with the newsletter seems interesting, but I wouldn’t do it on my blog. I’d rather subscribe to the newsletters of my favorite bloggers 🙂
Whenever someone comments on my post, I always visit their blog and try to leave a nice comment and thank them for stopping by.

So agree with this! I always try to reply to thoughtful commenters, visit their blogs & leave a nice comment too. I think it’s the least you can do if they’ve taken the time to leave a meaningful comment on your blog.
I think giveaways can be a lovely way to say thankyou too. I’d never done one before but as my blogs just turned a year old I decided to combine my fashion education & offer a custom made dress as a prize to celebrate! It seems to be going down well amongst my regular readers & I love that people have said what a lovely gesture it is too. I think it’s a nice way to show how much you really value them & appriciate their visits! 🙂
