Ah, the present.
With all the things we plan for, post schedules, meetings, brunches, events, even break times… it's hard to be present. Staying in the moment is probably one of the toughest things in a culture fixated on what lies ahead.
There is a difference between setting goals and future tripping.
Setting goals is outlining your next steps. Future tripping is fantasizing about your next step when you're not even done with the current step.
We're all on a path, going somewhere, but when we get in our heads and forget to look around at where we are, we miss opportunities. We miss experiencing the moment.
I feel the pressure a lot these days, being 33 weeks pregnant and growing by the minute, I'm excited for the future when I can meet my baby. There are all the things to put in place for the new arrival. That and including preparations for how IFB is going to run while I'm away, I feel like I'm always in the future. Staying in the moment is hard, this I know. But it's an important journey that should be cherished. It's important to be all here.
