Daily Inspiration: Embrace the current season of your life.

embrace current season

When I was a kid, I fantasized about what being a grown up would be like. I mostly had the dream of eating an entire tub of Cool Whip before dinner. Thankfully, that dream never came true. I dreamed of the many freedoms of adulthood, and while I would pretty much take my current freedoms over my childhood ones any day of the week, each part of our lives, childhood, teenage years, early adulthood, middle aged, senior, etc has it's own cause for celebration.

I freaked out when I turned 30, thinking that I was “getting old.” But what I didn't anticipate happening was a greater sense of peace and confidence. My “ugly body” was actually in  pretty good shape, my “craziness” turned out to be a decent asset in my life's arsenal. It turned out, I loved being in my 30's so much more than my 20's.

Each part of our lives holds a wonderful gift that can only be revealed when the time is right. When it comes to our blogs, yes, there are younger, older, this or that which is different from where we are in our lives, but the fact remains that we can only be ourselves and whatever season our lives happen to be at that point. Believe me, there is a niche for every stage of life, and that's certainly a cause for celebration.

I freaked out in the months leading up to my 30th birthday. I felt like I had accomplished NOTHING over the past 30 years, furthermore my body was falling apart and my biological clock was ticking.

I wrote several blog posts about how I was feeling and soon realized that everyone else was feeling the same way. I learned to embrace the change in my life through the act of writing the posts and reading the comments I received. It turns out that 30 is not a big deal.

Also around the time of my 30th bday (last month) a good friend of mine commented that “50 is now the new 40” and I’m not even there yet, it made me realize I have a lot to look forward to 🙂

Loved this inspiring post! I’m just under two years from turning 30 and I just have a great feeling, that it will be so much better than the 20’s.

Love this! So inspirational and true. I am in my early 30s and I totally agree, the same thing happened to me. I’ve embraced the 30’s as the next chapter in my life is unfolding. I never thought I could actually call myself a blogger and until now. My blog has lots more growing to go but for now I am learning what it takes to be a successful blogger.
