IFB is all about our community. You’re the reason we exist, and we love to feature your talents on our site. That’s why we created the IFB Project and Links a la Mode. We love to see what you’re posting, what you like, and be able to showcase your blog so that other members of the community can see it and be inspired.

We have a brilliant quartet of bloggers who each take a turn editing the Links a la Mode selections one week per month. They’ve been doing this for a while, so they’ve seen the good, the bad, the brilliant and the lack-luster. Our editors are seasoned experts at choosing the best posts to share with you, so I figured who better to provide a few refresher tips to ignite your submissions for 2012?

Here are their best tips for getting picked in the IFB Links A La Mode Weekly Round Up:

Provide a clear & enticing headline for your submission. Something that jumps out at the editors and makes us click to read!

Meghan Donovan, Wit & Whimsy:

Keep the sentences short and relevant when providing your link. And please, dont post rants you have! Also, submit just one selection – the very best post (quality is key)!

Collette Osuna, Statements In Fashion:

Make your post appealing with detailed directions if showing us a “how to” or a “DIY” and be sure to include clear, bright photos.

Jessie Thorpe, Denimology:

I’m a stickler for a great headline and I like LARGE, clear, beautiful, high quality pictures. I also like the “about” sentence to be short, and straight to the point.
