We've all heard people tell us, “Be the best you can be!” Hello, army!
But what does that really mean? Some days my best is just making it to work, other days my best is pretty damn good. I like the idea of being the best “version” of yourself, because as someone who is quite human, I can easily get wrapped up in petty things and unhealthy habits. Setting goals of who I would like to be helps to keep myself from slipping into my flaws and vices. Would the best version of myself lay around all night binge watching trashy TV shows Netflix? Possibly, but I would imagine a better version of myself would be finishing the pile of books on my nightstand.
So, here's to the best versions of ourselves! May the eventually become the regular versions of ourselves.
