I've been doing my make up the same way since I was sixteen. Black eyeliner, loads of mascara, bronzer and a dash of pinky lip balm. It wasn't until I started blogging about fashion that I was introduced to the world of beauty blogs. Suddenly a whole new universe of possibilities for pretty was available at the click of a mouse!
A sexy cat eye. A tangerine pout. The perfect nail art tutorial. These are the things we seek when we visit our favorite beauty blogs. Like their sartorially-based counterparts, beauty blogs inspire us with new products, inspired pairings and trends worth trying.

Over here at IFB, yes, Independent Fashion Bloggers, we consider beauty blogs to be part of the family. Because let's be honest, even in your best outfit, who doesn't feel naked without a fresh face and swipe of lip color?
IFB's 15 Most Gorgeous Beauty Blogs:
Natural hair and beauty tips, celebrity inspiration and product reviews – it's all here.
A beauty Tumblr (of gorgeous how-to posts) by a professional make up artist.
Sleek design and a mix of inspiration and make up bag-dishing make this blog an instant bookmark.
Beauty with a heavy dose of wit and lots of pop culture references. We like.
Part of the Snob Network, this blog is a “selective editorial” on beauty and hair products.
Awesome imagery and honest reviews make this beauty blog a stand-out.
From DIYs to health and organic products, this blog has a little bit of everything.
From backstage fashion show beauty to profiles on industry pros, we can't get enough of ITG.
A definitive source of reviews, for just about any beauty product under the sun.
This blogger creates nail art inspired by runway trends. Yeah, it's as amazing as it sounds.
A blog all about fragrances and perfumes, including reviews, new products and giveaways.
Reviews and features from a personal perspective, everything from nail polish to skin care.
This blog combines trend stories, hair tutorials, DIYs and beauty tips with a flawless and fun design.
Along with helpful product reviews, we love TDO's “insider obsessions” feature.
Beauty on a budget, “man stuff” and lifestyle extras? Yes please.

I love Belle Belle Beauty an informative and fun blog about make up. She’s my go to for all my Make up needs and she has taught me a ton about skin care etc. amazing blog
Thank you so much, Lily! This made my day to see me first in the comments. Yes, I’d like to include Belle Belle 🙂
Temptalia and All Lacquered Up are two of my faves. I write a beauty blog and they are kind of what I aspire to!
I have my own beauty blog and I blog every single day so YES! I am big on beauty blogs. Not just my own, but plenty of others as well 🙂
Love PopTrashBeauty and BritishBeautyBlogger, the first weighted to Duran Duran and beauty, the second consistently rich and energized.
thank you! so flattered to be in this amazing list. I’d add
The Glossarie http://theglossarie.com/
Cuz you can never have too many right?!!
XO
thanks, ann!! congrats on making this fabulous list – you’re my personal favorite, and among excellent company here 🙂
Beauty blogs are my go to for tips and advice over mags. Beauty and the Feast is one of my faves def needs to be on the list!!
As a beauty blogger I’m a big fan of Makeup Geek. Her videos are awesome. I’m definitely drawn to beauty blogs that give good and meaningful product reviews and how-tos as opposed to just doing swatches, sponsored posts, or just product descriptions.
I second The Beauty Look Book and add the following “unsponsored” blogs:
Cafe Beauty
Joey’s Space
Perilously Pale
These are among the blogs I turn to as models as my own blog, When a Door Closes, morphs into a beauty and lifestyle.
I would also add Lisa Eldridge Makeup and Adventures in Makeup, both professional makeup artists.
While some of the blogs listed I do love (ITG in particular), a lot of them are product sponsored or just visually appealing. Some of the more product driven/unsponsored blogs like The Beauty Look Book do a great job providing honest info.
I started my own beauty blog a few weeks ago, Glossy Esquire, and am just starting to hit my stride. Product reviews start up this week and let me tell you, the whole beauty blogging thing is a lot harder than it looks!
Even though I’m not a big beauty person it’s always fun to read up on beauty blogs. Into The Gloss is definitely one of my favourites, but I’ll add Powder Doom to the list(powderdoom.tumblr.com)
So many beauty blogs to check out! My blog started as a way to promote the jewelry that I make, and ended up being a mostly beauty and fashion blog.
Since I didn’t make the list, I’ll have to check out all of the others and see what I need to do to make the next one!
Always great info here, so glad that I found IFB.

This is an amazing list, Into The Gloss and AM are two of my favorites!
Ooh lots there that I hadn’t seen before, I like the look of Beauty Banter! Also Ann’s blog is gorgeous, love the huge pictures…will be subscribing.
One of my favorite beauty blogs is by a UK blogger, its Beauty-crush.com
Also, thank you for listing a racially diverse group of beauty bloggers! Most of these blogs I have never heard of and will be now following!!
Shameless plug, but I’d like to add The Style and Beauty Doctor: http://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com. I do fashion and celeb news but a majority is beauty with product recommendations and makeup shades for women of every color: http://www.thestyleandbeautydoctor.com/2010/10/best-makeup-colors-for-every-skin-tone/ 🙂
so interesting list of blogs.
I’m a fan of Beautezine.com. They feature all the hot, new products with detailed reviews and beautiful swatches, and the Editor is really down-to-earth and fun to follow on Twitter, too!

Though she isn’t based in the US one of my favorite beauty bloggers is Vivianna Does Makeup. Her blog is amazing, and her YouTube videos are just as nice.
