Great suggestions! I’ve only actively pursued and conquered one: being featured on Links a la Mode. But, I’m proud to say that my blog has been featured on two blogs that I really look up to: Shamepuff and XoJane! www.purplebananasandfudgeballs.blogspot.com

Also I watched a news piece on the photoshoot that they did with Taylor Swift for that Glamour cover. It was very interesting to see what they liked in a photo and what they didn’t. They chose that shot because she was looking directly at the camera.

Great list by the way, but you might want to rename your post to how to get traffic to your blog.

Hosting an event was the worst thing I ever did. Maybe I just had bad PR/a bad event planner, but few people showed up. At least my reputation wasn’t completely messed up…

Very interesting! I have never really thought much about getting my blog featured but I do think it would be a neat thing to strive towards. I’ve always thought if it happens, it happens and didn’t realize you could really speed up the process.

Sign up for the HARO list. It’s a 3x dail email that lists reporters who need sources on various things. I got featured on shape.com that way.

Very motivational! Great list! The HARO tip in the comments is very true, too. I’ve gotten my husband quoted in New York Times, and me & friends on Good Morning America & Nate Berkus Show, just to name a few, as a result of HARO

Honestly, as a blogger outside US and Europe where brand-blogger collaboration are robust, I’m a little confused as to how I can connect with publicist and brands in order to collaborate with them. But for the rest of the list I agree, there’s no point of staying the same with other bloggers, we have to stand out and reach out in a good way.

I so needed to read this. I’ve been working on this issue lately. I was so wrapped up in doing events now I’m pulling back to focus on building my credibility. That’s really important to me!

As a newbie blogger, it’s been tough to find a following ’cause there are so many out there. I’d like to establish more “real” relationships with other bloggers, but it’s been difficult when it seems everyone wants you to “follow me, and I’ll follow back” and in actuality, they just want you to follow them – but there is no real personal connection ever made again.

But I’m glad I saw this post. I’m going to print it out and add it to my ‘to-do’ list!

    Thanks!

Okay, so this post is going to become like my version of the bible. I feel like, after a couple of months getting going, that I am ready to start ‘being featured’ and ready to branch/reach out to others and the ideas and tips you have featured will help me to do this. Thanks for the great advice, I think I will pretty much work through the whole list. I fully expect to come back to you when I have checked off number 25 and am an internationally renowned blogger. See you on the front-row!

Oh, I’m actuall going through IFB posts and these are so useful. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned. I do think I have a different point of view but some people do not respect that because obviously not everyone agrees with me…

I came across your site in search of information on niche blogging and was not disappointed. I have absolutely no fashion sense, (& only a passing interest in the subject, until now), but the blogging posts listed here, have been very informative, insightful, well thought out and fun to read. Thank you for posting them!
